I have been fighting them since I bought my code signing certificate from them. Their buy-in price is low, but then they started charging me for 'usage'- which works out to $100 in charges for each AppX build I sign. Their 'logs' are nothing but uuids with no explanation of what file or files were signed- which is part of the problem, because when I sign one AppX bundle, they claim it's 20 signatures, even though only one file is signed by them, and they can't explain the discrepancy - but they bill me for it anyway. They will also hit you up for renewal automatically, months before you are up for renewal and without warning, and then you will have to go through a process to get the charge removed. These people are crooks- you've been warned. And all I can assume from all of these glowing reviews- either their non-EV code signing business is not run as fraudulently, or they are fake reviews. Google ssl.com and fraud and start reading the complaints.

I have used code signing certificates for quite some time for my open source solution, Threats Manager Studio (https://threatsmanager.com). I have used both cheap providers and more expensive ones. Now that my certificates are expiring, I saw the opportunity to change provider because the current one is too expensive. Having to pay for the certificates myself, cost is a major concern. Lately, code signing certificates have become harder to get, not only you need to prove your identity as you used to do, but you also have to store them in some secure storage. Previous solutions lacked the flexibility I needed. Then I found SSL.com. With SSL.com I have been able to choose between an online service and Yubikeys, which I love. Prices are reasonable, support is always available and top level. Take Jeffrey, for example: I wanted to install the certificate on a second Yubikey and he supported me in the process, patiently guiding me even when I made a couple of mistakes (yup!) and addressing my problem in a few minutes.
