In 2009 I switched from using a Verisign EV SSL to a DigiCert EV SSL. The entire experience from their web ordering, control panel, and especially support. One of the major reasons, at least initially, was that DigiCert includes both the root and www domains in a single certificate AND doesn't charge extra for it! I renewed the EV SSL in 2011 and again today (8/11/2013). Before 2009 I was using an EV SSL from Verisign. And before that standard SSL's from Thawte, who is also a verisign company btw.
