If you are not used to installing certificates and using UNIX - it can be tough

IT's not GoDaddy's fault installing a certificate is tricky. You will have to learn how to use UNIX shell of some sort (this is a command line way to talk to the secure files on your server. You will have to take all the steps very carefully and search the internet to solve every problem. Once you have got on top of the things you have to do to generate a certificate request and you send it to GoDaddy they are terrific, the site is well laid out and if you phoen customer support you get it. A big 'however' is that you need to be contacting the right people for support. If you are stuck server side its your server support team who must help you out, not GoDaddy. SOmetimes its hard to tell whether eg you have the wrong GoDaddy file, or you're doing the wrong thing with the file on your server. Ditto you need to find the support pages for YOUR server when searching for a problem solution. I found a 'solution' on Digicert to a problem - the solution worked right through the sign up and certificate approval process until I tried to use the certificate. Then I discovered the solution I had found didn't work on my server... so start again. Put it this way. I had to do it twice because I requested the wrong type of key certificate the first time. The first time, it took me about 20 hours (not including waiting for the cert to be issued). Then I did it ALL again ;-) ...About 40 minutes from start to finish. I'm completely happy with how GoDaddy did everything and the green bar looks great!!
