A RapidSSL certificate is easy to use and install, but you need to choose between WWW or non-WWW because, because a RapidSSL certificate doesn't cover both WWW and non-WWW secure requests.

I recently reissued my SHA1 certs -- for free -- as SHA256. Everything was automated and worked perfectly. That was my 3rd or 4th cert with RapidSSL, and the process has been easy every time. The one time I did have to use support was when I incorrectly entered my payment details. This was resolved within hours, on a weekend, and I was very pleased with their handling of my mistake!

If you need SHA256 certificates, you may need to go to the rapidssl.com website. I used Namecheap but they only issue SHA1 certificates. If you already have a SHA1, reissues are free. Just go to their website, reissue it and choose SHA256 from the dropdown. I have no plans to use anything but RapidSSL for the foreseeable future.

If you value security, you wouldn't allow your server to run a web browser with javascript enabled. I originally tried using a different (free) TLS certificate provider, but their site failed to function in my javascript-free browser. The RapidSSL site worked perfectly. Unfortunately, their certificates are a bit more expensive than free.

Geotrust website is complicated to navigate, its frustrating that there are 4 different login portals. On top of that, the guides for using services such as Amazons ELB and for example, if you were to use NGINX or wanted to secure VSFTPD mean that you have to have prior knowledge of ssl certificates and openSSL commands. The installer for IIS doesn't work if you generated the CSR not on the same server (Which doesn't make sense when you purchase a wildcard certificate.) Other then that.. I guess the turn around times for issue and reissue are pretty good. Oh the live chat flat out doesn't work in google chrome.

Best support you can get, fast responses and fastest certification. I bought Wildcard SSL - this was almost instantaneous. True BusinessID EV was also much faster than I expected with great support. The 1 to 10 days was more like over night. My mistake is that I ordered at the end of the day.

Every other year I renew our certificates, and every other year I overlook something silly and simple. Ordering/renewing is fairly straightforward with a few options to choose from but RapidSSL, although owned and operated by GeoTrust, is not listed on the GeoTrust website's SSL comparison. Confirmation/certificate emails sent immediately and when needed was able to reissue without any problem (got grey listed sending to different email than admin contact). Used their website's Live Help without any problems to ask a couple of clarification questions.
