I recently reissued my SHA1 certs -- for free -- as SHA256. Everything was automated and worked perfectly. That was my 3rd or 4th cert with RapidSSL, and the process has been easy every time. The one time I did have to use support was when I incorrectly entered my payment details. This was resolved within hours, on a weekend, and I was very pleased with their handling of my mistake!
