Customer Service? They don't have

Made two request almost a week ago. They are still in the processing phase. If I try to contact the so-called Support, they are hardly reachable and will tell you nothing but some general BS(basically: "I will contact the regional customer center to speed up the process), but of course nothing happens. Interesting, when we were just evaluating the Trial certificate, a Customer representative could contact us at least twice a week... I won't recommend this company to anyone, although Digicert a little bit more expensive, the support and issuing speed (just 10 minutes) totally worth it.

I searched for months a cheap SSL certificate. I really think CheapSSL dot com is the cheapest at $7.99 for a Rapid SSL certificate at the moment. More, it's easy to install it (of course, with your hosting company support is able to help you or to do it for you).

TERRIBLE customer service

There is a total disconnect within GeoTrust!! Certs are a critical component to many businesses and when the customer service is needed it is not there. We had multiple certs expire with NO notification!!! We immediately contacted GeoTrust within California business hours to correct the issue, pay for the cert renewals and move the process along. Here we are 3 days later and still nothing. When asked why we had no expiration notifications, the answer was “we do not know”. We have been told via "chat support" that we should be getting an e-mail within the hour- it has been 72 hours. 3 days later and still nothing and no one is available via phone. I am disappointed to say I will be taking my business and my clients business elsewhere! This is too much of an important part of a business to rely on GeoTrust.

Geotrust are a nightmare. They don't give a monkey's about their customers. I've cancelled two EV cert orders in the past week because they just don't deliver. They make no effort whatsoever to verify organisation details. Support queries are never answered and the staff appear disinterested to say the least.

Four weeks of waiting and still no certificate

Reference Order Number: 8051562 I ordered TrueBusinessID with EV for a customer on Nov 15th 2011, the ordering process was okay, went actually smoothly - shortly after sending the required legal documents for verification. The process lasted about a week. Until the process where the verification calls have to be arranged... I've done what the order status site told me, gone to the support page and sent them a message when they can call the customer and I should let them upto 3 days to answer the request. They started making the calls about a week after that message but they've made the calls outside the times I've told them, like calling in the midnight (GMT+1). The customer called back and they can't reach them, so then I called the support... One out of four tries with about 10 to 15 mins of waiting, I've finally gotten through the lines. They told me that the current account manager is currently busy and asked me if it's okay if he can call me back. He never called me back. On December 15th 2011, I've finally cancelled the order upon the wish of the customer, saying that they're so incompetent to call on arranged times, wishing he would never see or hear anything from them.

Weird problems

We have a Flash site where users can upload files to our server through Adobe Flash application. This site is using GlobalSign and we never had problems. Now we opened a new site, same program, just that this time we decided to use Geotrust and we have problems with some browsers. Some gets an IO Error on the first try to upload and then is ok, some always fails on upload. Just checked http://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html GlobalSign: Ok on the first time. Geotrust: Fail on the first time, Ok on the second time. Just to found out that it was a problem with Geotrust took us a week of researching... Hope they can fix that soon.

Decent Service and price through Enom

I have bought hundreds of rapidssl, quickssl and quickssl premium certs from geotrust via enom. I'll admit, I'm extremely proficient with making CSRs and installing certs, but I think overall their software and price is good. the certs usually come in about 3-5 minutes, and if you know how to make a CSR and how to make your PEM files, their system is quite easy to use. About 3-5 times (out of hundreds of requests) I have had them hold up a cert and I had to call customer service to get it released. I don't know why. they did answer the phone quickly and they were polite, but i had to wait up to 8 hours for the cert.

I almost lost my business due to these guys. I waited over a week to renew cert. When we finally got the email to approve, was the wrong company and owner cert. More DOWN TIME. OMG! Our entire company was down, attorneys could not login and get info, company simply could not function. No customer service there either, BAD BAD BAD COMPANY.

The very, very worst company I've ever dealt with

We write code for Windows Mobile and, as such, have to get that code signed. In order to do this, you need to purchase signing events from one of the approved vendors. These are Versign and Geotrust, but as these are now both the same company, it's basically Geotrust. We've been using this for years, but in December we had to renew our account due to a change of company name. And that's where the fun started... I have never, in my entire life in IT, dealt with a set of companies that has so little idea about how its own processes work. Every person does one job, and only one job. If they can't fix your problem, you're basically stuffed unless by some chance they know someone else that can. Technical bounce you to accounts and accounts bounce you back to technical, but in truth both are equally inept. In short, it took us nearly 4 months to renew our account, and even now, nearly 5 months later, we still can't get them to issue an invoice that matches the amount we paid. Shockingly bad. I will never use either Verisign or Geotrust again in my professional life and can 100% recommend DigiCert, who are like a breath of fresh air in comparison. I would formally complain to them, except that I can't find anyone whose job it is to look after complaints. And, frankly, I just want to be shut of them so I never have to deal with them again. Do business with them at your peril.
